In her latest collection, Laura Harris delves deeper into the realm of abstraction, further distilling her well-known abstract landscapes into their purest form. By further stripping away the constraints of realism, she eloquently communicates the landscape's spirit and energy in a more visceral way. Texture and brushwork play a vital role in creating a tactile sense of the natural world – the ruggedness of a mountain range in the distance, the calming fluidity of water, or the softness of grass. Laura’s layered use of light and dark – almost black pigments – is both dramatic and elegant, conveying a wide range of emotions, from melancholy and introspection to joy, strength and resilience. This new collection invites us to explore, dream and find meaning in the landscapes that shape our own experiences and perceptions.
